Few other industry sectors challenge the precision of their filter elements as acutely as chromatography and biotech processes. The ideal prerequisite for BOPP, as it is exactly this attribute that sets us apart from the rest.
Chromatography systems transform the most diverse substances from a mobile state to a stationery state. Interaction of the constituent parts of the substance mixtures between the two phases means the individual substances are transported at different speeds and therefore separated out.
Batch or multi-pillar chromatopgraphy systems are also used, ranging from small lab apparatus through to large production plant in pharmaceuticals, for food additives, fine chemicals and biopolymers. The key component of these systems is a sinter laminate with very precise filter pores. The demands in terms of accurate filter fineness, flow rate and pressure drop are particualarly high in these challenging applications, in order to achieve a reliable result. Last but not least is loss of the horrendously expensive chromatography gels in singificant quantities from the sinter mesh.
Our offering includes discs in diameters of ~ 25 to 2000mm with pore sizes from 1-40 microns. Dependent upon the application, we sinter 5, 7 or 10 layer filter discs made from AISI 316L, AISI 904L or Hastelloy C-22. Where required, the sinter laminate can be supplied complete with welded rings, pickled and passivated.
